Robert Steininger

Robert’s background spans a wide range of activities from Business Development to Training to Project Management. He has worked in Austria, Germany, USA and Ireland.

Originally from Austria, he trained as an Electrical Engineer, Robert joined the Industrial Services Division of Siemens in Germany in 1989. His problem solving skills quickly made him the specialist for challenging assignments like system beta installations and emergency breakdowns. From there, he moved into international project management and was responsible for industrial large-scale plant automation projects for several years. Taking on additional responsibilities in sales led him into a business development position with Siemens Energy & Automation in the United States, where he moved in 1998. There he founded a new Siemens business unit which grew from zero to over US$ 7millions in three years.

After moving to Ireland in 2004, Robert started his own business in conjunction with the world’s leading business coaching firm (Action COACH Business Coaching). He later branched out from coaching and training to incorporate his long-time interest in the renewable energy sector. In the course of a few years, he has developed a specialty consultancy niche in the area of renewable energy and green business. He has advised companies on business strategies and the sourcing of energy-efficient products, upon which he has given several invited talks at conferences and workshops. He also performed consultancy work in China for the German bank KfW to evaluate a feasibility study of large scale heat recovery power generation units for multiple cement plants in north-west China. More recently he was responsible to set up operations for a newly launched software company providing SaaS and PaaS offerings. He provides vital, Project Management skills to CJHNetwork. Robert and Colm Hyland founded the Green Village project in Malahide, Co Dublin in 2010.
